How to install & configure Apache on a Windows server This article is the first part of our 'How to install pre-requisites needed for running a self-hosted edition of MIDAS from a Windows server' series. It applies to self-hosted installations of a MIDAS room booking and resource scheduling system on Windows-based servers only. If you have a Professional or Server version of Windows, you may already have IIS installed. If you would prefer Apache, either remove IIS as a Windows component or disable its services. Apache listens for requests on TCP/IP port 80. The default installation of Skype also listens on this port and will cause conflicts.
Here in this tutorial will see a simple method to install Apache Cassandra on Windows 10/8/7 or Windows Server 2008/2012 without using Datastax community edition setup.
What is Apache Cassandra?
Apache Cassandra is a free and open source distributed NoSQL database system. Originally developed by Facebook, it is used to store simple format data such as inboxes. It combines Google BigTable’s data model with Amazon Dynamo’s fully distributed architecture. Facebook has opened Cassandra in 2008. Since then, Cassandra has good scalability that’s Digg, Twitter, GitHub, GoDaddy, Hulu, Instagram and other well-known sites or companies have adopted it and become a popular distributed structured data storage solutions.
Apache Cassandra is a hybrid, non-relational database similar to Google’s BigTable. Its main function is richer than Dynamo (distributed Key-Value storage system ), but its support is not as good as document storage MongoDB (an open source product between a relational database and non-relational database). It is the most abundant and non-relational database. Like a relational database, the supported data structure is very loose and is similar to JSON format, so it can store more complex data types.
Note: We are not using DataStax here to install Apache Cassandra because DataStax no longer provides the DataStax Community version of Apache Cassandra. You can read the official dictum here.

How to Install Cassandra on Windows 10/8/7 without datastaxStep 1: Download Java 8 (Java SE Development Kit 8u211)
First thing first which is Java 8 installation and setting up of System variables for it on Windows 10/8/7 system. Thus, here is the linkto download Java SE Development Kit 8u211.
After downloading, double click on the Java setup file to run and install it.
Step 2: Set $Java_Home variable on Windows
To set the system variables on your Windows system for Java 8; right click on My Computer or This PC icon and select properties option.
From the properties of your system on the left side, you will see an option called Advanced system settings. Click on that.
From the Environmental Variables screen, click on the New button given under System variables. Now in New System Variables window for Variable name type: JAVA_HOME and then click on Variable Value column after that select Browse Directory button.
Open multiple instances of an app mac. From browse directory go to My computer or This PC->C: Drive->Programe Files->Java and select JDK 1.8 Best printer for macos.
Spotify download to phone. After adding the path of JAVA 8 to System variable it will look like something below screenshot. To save the settings click on the OK button.
Step 3: Download and Install Python 2.7 on Windows 10/8/7
We have tried the latest version of Python for Apache Cassandra but it gave an error while running Cassandra commands CQLSH. The error was:
Hence, we had to install the downgrade version which is 2.7 and compatible with Apache Cassandra.
Here is the link to download Python 2.7 for Windows. On the download page click on the Windows x86-64 MSI installer.
After downloading the Python setup just run it like any other normal Windows.exe application.
Step 4: Set System environment variables for Python
Once the installation is done, the next thing which needs to be done is to let our command shells know about its commands by setting the environment variables.
Just like we have done above for JAVA, again go to Advance settings to access the environment variables and under the system variables you will see Path variable double click on that.
Click on New and then Browse. From directory browser go to My computer or This PC- C: Drive->select Python 27.
Hit the OK button to save the changes.

Two things have been successfully set that we needed to up and run a Cassandra server. Now finally, go to Apache Cassandra website and download its latest version. Here is the link.
While writing this Apache Cassandra setup tutorial for Windows, the latest version was 3.11 which might be different in your case.
Step 6: Extract Apache Cassandra Tar folder
The downloaded folder of Apache Cassandra will be in Tar compressed form. You can use Winrar or 7zip to extract it. After extracting open the folder and copy the folder to C: Drive.
Install Phpmyadmin Windows Server 2012 ApacheStep 7: Set Cassandra HOME Environmental variables
As we set system variables above for Java and Python, we do the same for Cassandra. Under the system, variable click on the NEW button and type CASSANDRA_HOME for Variable name. And then click on Variable value column and browse the directory to select the folder of Apache Cassandra we copied to C: drive in the above step.
Now double click on the Path Variable of System Variables and Click New then Browse the Apache Cassandra folder resided in C: drive and inside that select the bin folder. Click the OK button and then again the OK button to save the variables.
Step 8: Run and up Cassandra on Windows 10/ server

When you see Node started on Localhost/127.0.0.1 then just leave the command prompt window running Apache Cassandra open as it is.
Install Apache Windows Server 2012 64
Note: If you are running the above command in Powershell then you can close it.
Step 9: Run Cassandra commands on Windows
Now, open new Command Prompt Window and run:
Now you can start using Cassandra commands…
If you want to make the Cassandra service as Windows service so, that you don’t need to be run it again and again from the command prompt, see this tutorial: Start Cassandra as service in Windows 10/7/server…

Best way to delete app mac. Starting web development is easy: you create a file called something.html, edit it in Notepad, and load it in a browser. Simple sites can be built using this process but, to really explore the possibilities, you need a web server.
What is a Web Server?
(Skip to the next section if necessary…)
A web server is software that listens for requests and returns data (usually a file). When you type “www.mysite.com”, the request is forwarded to a machine running web server software which returns a file back to your browser, e.g. the contents of index.html. The browser might then make further requests based on the HTML content, e.g. CSS, JavaScript, and graphic files.
https://morningsupernal.weebly.com/ultraman-ps2-evolution-3-download-mega.html. Since the web server sits between your browser and the requested file, it can perform processing that is not possible by opening an HTML file directly. For example, it can parse PHP code which connects to a database and returns data.
You can use your host’s web server for testing, but uploading will become tiresome and changes could go live before they had been fully tested. What you need is a local web server installation.
Why Apache?
In general, I would recommend using the web server software that your web host uses. Unless you are creating ASP.NET applications on Microsoft IIS, your host is likely to use Apache: the most widespread and fully-featured web server available. It is open-source project so it does not cost anything to download or install.
The following instructions describe how to install Apache on Windows. Mac OSX comes with Apache and PHP, although you might need to enable them. Most Linux users will have Apache pre-installed or available in the base repositories.

All-in-One packages
There are some excellent all-in-one Windows distributions that contain Apache, PHP, MySQL and other applications in a single installation file, e.g. XAMPP (including a Mac version), WampServer and Web.Developer. There is nothing wrong with using these packages, although manually installing Apache will help you learn more about the system and its configuration options.
The Apache Installation Wizard
An excellent official .msi installation wizard is available from the Apache download page. This option is certainly recommended for novice users or perhaps those installing Apache for the first time.
Manual Installation
Manual installation offers several benefits:
Install Apache Php Mysql Windows Server 2012 R2Step 1: configure IIS, Skype and other software (optional)
If you have a Professional or Server version of Windows, you may already have IIS installed. If you would prefer Apache, either remove IIS as a Windows component or disable its services.
Apache listens for requests on TCP/IP port 80. The default installation of Skype also listens on this port and will cause conflicts. To switch it off, start Skype and choose Tools > Options > Advanced > Connection. Ensure you untick “Use port 80 and 443 as alternatives for incoming connections”.
Step 2: download the files
We are going to use the unofficial Windows binary from Apache Lounge. This version has performance and stability improvements over the official Apache distribution, although I am yet to notice a significant difference. However, it is provided as a manually installable ZIP file from www.apachelounge.com/download/
![]()
You should also download and install the Windows C++ runtime from Microsoft.com. You may have this installed already, but there is no harm installing it again.
As always, remember to virus scan all downloads.
Step 2: extract the files
We will install Apache in C:Apache2, so extract the ZIP file to the root of the C: drive.
Apache can be installed anywhere on your system, but you will need to change the configuration file paths accordingly…
Step 3: configure Apache
Apache is configured with the text file confhttpd.conf contained in the Apache folder. Open it with your favourite text editor.
Note that all file path settings use a ‘/’ forward-slash rather than the Windows backslash. If you installed Apache anywhere other than C:Apache2, now is a good time to search and replace all references to “c:/Apache2”.
There are several lines you should change for your production environment:
Line 46, listen to all requests on port 80:
Line 116, enable mod-rewrite by removing the # (optional, but useful):
Line 172, specify the server domain name:
Line 224, allow .htaccess overrides:
Step 4: change the web page root (optional)
By default, Apache return files found in its htdocs folder. I would recommend using a folder on an another drive or partition to make backups and re-installation easier. For the purposes of this example, we will create a folder called D:WebPages and change httpd.conf accordingly:
Line 179, set the root:
and line 204:
Step 5: test your installation
Your Apache configuration can now be tested. Open a command box (Start > Run > cmd) and enter:
Correct any httpd.conf configuration errors and retest until none appear.
Step 6: install Apache as a Windows service
The easiest way to start Apache is to add it as a Windows service. From a command prompt, enter:
Open the Control Panel, Administrative Tools, then Services and double-click Apache2.2. Set the Startup type to “Automatic” to ensure Apache starts every time you boot your PC.
Alternatively, set the Startup type to “Manual” and launch Apache whenever you choose using the command “net start Apache2.2”.
How To Install Apache Tomcat 8 On Windows Server 2012 R2Step 7: test the web server
Create a file named index.html in Apache’s web page root (either htdocs or D:WebPages) and add a little HTML code:
Ensure Apache has started successfully, open a web browser and enter the address http://localhost/. If all goes well, your test page should appear.
In general, most problems will be caused by an incorrect setting in the httpd.conf configuration file. Refer to the Apache documentation if you require further information.
